This Kakadu tour is the ultimate Top End Adventure tour taking in two world famous National Parks. You will be part of a small group for this adventure. Get up close and personal with a huge Saltwater Crocodile. Marvel at ancient Aboriginal Rock Art. Go offroad on four wheel drive remote tracks to awesome towering waterfalls. Swim in plunge pools thousands of years old, walk in the footsteps of the original inhabitants of this unspoiled wilderness area.
Kakadu tour - Day 1
Your tour bus will pick you up from your Darwin accommodation around 7.00am then we drive towards Litchfield National Park to explore the spring fed streams the stunning water falls, magnetic termite mounds and hike to Florence and Wangi Falls for a picnic lunch. After lunch we hit the dirt road that will take us deep into Kakadu National Park. Traveling past billabongs and water crossings we arrive at our private permanent campsite with comfortable tents at Cooinda where we spend the night enjoying dinner and gazing up at the stars.

Kakadu tour - Day 2
This morning we join the Aboriginal owned award winning Yellow Waters Wildlife Cruise. Cruising this spectacular billabong we try our hand at crocodile spotting while taking in a wide range of other wildlife on this unique water system. Departing camp we drive to nearby Nourlangie Rock where you can see how local Aboriginal people lived in this area. Changes are reflected in the Aboriginal rock art and in the cround where archaeologists have uncovered over 20,000 years of Aboriginal occupation.
After lunch we visit the Bowali Visitor Centre where you can see the audio-visual presentations and Marrawuddi Gallery showcasing Aboriginal art by artists from within Kakadu and the wider region. Later this afternoon we drive to Ubirr Rock located within the East Alligator region of Kakadu. Here you will view a wide range of rock art which your guide will interpret for you. Learn the story of the Rainbow Serpent and climb up to the Nadab Lookout for panoramic views over the floodplains before traveling to our overnight permanent campsite.

Kakadu tour - Day 3
Today is special as we visit the stunning water falls of Twin Falls and Jim Jim Falls. After a 4WD trip we climb onboard the boat shuttle and walk along the Twin Falls boardwalk with a local guide telling us about the area (seasonal). Sunbake on the sandy beach before we head off to the mighty Jim Jim falls.
We hike through monsoon rainforest and over boulders to arrive at the huge clear plungepool at the bottom of Jim Jim Falls. You are surrounded by 150 metre sheer cliffs. Take a swim in the clear water and feel the imposing majesty of this special location. We overnight back at our campsite with dinner and drinks talking about the days activities.

Kakadu tour - Day 4
We spend the morning at Gunlom Falls. We take time out at the lower plunge pool before we climb to the top of the falls to the crystal clear pools there for a swim. From here the view is incredible as you soak in the water and look out over Kakadu from this birds eye view location. For the more energetic hike to the rear waterfall where the reward is swimming underneath the waterfall.
After we enjoy a tasty lunch we drive to the Katherine Region stopping at Edith Falls for a swim before spending the night at our private campsite near Katherine Gorge.

Kakadu tour - Day 5
We are up early this morning to discover Nitmiluk National Park, go for a boat cruise, canoe (optional) or a hike along the steep rock walls of Maguk (Katherine Gorge). See if you can spot a freshwater crocodile while exploring the spiritual home of the Jawoyn Aboriginal people. This afternoon we drive north back to Darwin We arrive into Darwin around 5.30pm.
Itinerary/Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls might not be able to be accessed during the wet season. If this is the case we will visit Motor Car falls or Boulder Creek. 15 kilogram luggage limit on tour.
