Great Barrier Reef Island Resort
Lady Elliot Island and Fraser Island Package
5 Days Two Unique Islands
Visit a True Great Barrier Reef Coral Island and the Worlds Largest Sand Island
Fly to to beautiful Lady Elliott Island on the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef to experience what a true Great Barrier Reef coral island is like. Lady Elliot Island is home to nesting migrating birds, sea turtles come to lay their eggs on the beaches of Lady Elliot Island and giant Manta Rays gather to breed in the water around Lady Elliot Island.
Unlike the majority of resort islands in the Great Barrier Reef marine park Lady Elliot is out on the actual Great Barrier reef and is surrounded by a barrier reef that is home to abundant and unusual marine life. This region has been protected for a long time so you will be amazed and the abundance and variety of marine creatures you will meet. Large schools of fish, plentiful coral growth, local dolphins, sea turtles, Manta Rays and reef sharks. Lady Elliot Island is world famous for snorkeling and scuba diving in near perfect conditions.
This package offers you accommodation in Eco Huts with shared facilities or ensuited Reef rooms depending on availability. You will fly from the coastal town of Hervey Bay out to Lady Elliot island so make sure you have your camera ready to go before you get on the plane. The Great Barrier Reef from the air is an amazing sight.
Your time is spent over 3 days before flying back to Hervey Bay on day 3 and staying at the Mantra Apartments over looking the marina at Urangan where there are views out to Fraser Island.
The next morning you will be picked up by Fraser Explorer Tours and cross to Fraser Island by vehicular barge to begin two days of touring this World Heritage Listed environment, one of the rare places on earth where rainforest grows on sand.
Learn about the 3,000+ year history of the aboriginal Butchulla people who lived on Fraser Island and keep your eyes open for the Butchulla peoples faithful friend the Fraser Island Dingo which is one of the purest breed of dingoes on the East Coast of Australia.
Relax on the pure white sand of fabulous Lake McKenzie one of the many freshwater lakes on Fraser Island. Visit the Maheno Shipwreck and learn how she ended up on the 75 mile beach (yes it is 75 miles long) on the east coast of Fraser Island.
Explore Eli Creek and laze in pure fresh crystal clear water that has taken 100 years to filter through the islands sand. Stand on Indian Head and imagine the Butchulla people standing where you are wondering what Captain Cooks ship was. Indian Head was also the scene of a bloody massacre.
Take a walk in the rainforest at Central Station and marvel at Wangoolbah Creek as it winds it's way without making a sound through the rainforests floor. Take a walk to Pile Valley and be amazed by huge Satinay trees and check out the parasitic strangler fig tree.
Arrive back in Hervey Bay late afternoon on day 5 of your amazing journey to two of the most amazing places on earth.

After settling in it won't be long before you just have to go down and explore the islands lagoon and coral gardens.
Day 2 Lady Elliot Island on the Great Barrier Reef
You don't have to walk far here, you literally step off the beach and onto the actual Great Barrier Reef. Take an early morning snorkel before a hot buffet breakfast.
