If you are into adrenalin activities you can't miss white water rafting on the mighty Tully River south of Cairns. You will be picked up early in the morning by Extreme White Water Rafting company Raging Thunder in a comfortable coach and taken down the scenic Bruce Highway to the Tully River near Mission Beach on a 2.5 hour drive.

The coach will travel past mountains, rainforest, sugar cane fields on the way to your Extreme White Water Rafting adventure.
Tully River Extreme White Water Rafting
The mighty Tully river winds it's way through thick lush green rainforest within the Cassowary Coast region of North Queensland. The Tully River is located inland from Mission Beach and your Extreme White Water Rafting rafts will be put into the Tully River below the Kareeya hydro power station.
After some pre White Water Rafting tuition from your river guide you will take on the more radical rapids of the mighty Tully River. You will be spending 4.5 hours on the river during the day.
Extreme White Water Rafting Rapids
Your raft will be controlled by a highly professional and highly trained river guide, your guide will teach you the correct techniques to navigate the rapids and to control the raft. Your guide is a fountain of knowledge and will also share the history of this unique rainforest landscape that most people never get to see.

Like any adventure activity Extreme White Water Rafting carries inherent risks and you will be required to sign an indemnity form to that effect on the day. All participants are fitted with life jackets and helmets as a safety precaution at the top of the Tully River. You must wear these at all times while on the raft.
Pregnancy and rafting do not go together. You must also be able to swim to participate in Extreme White Water Rafting. Medics are present at the Tully River and you can discuss any other medical conditions on the day with them. People with allergies should be carrying their own Epi Pen to give to the guide to hold during Extreme White Water Rafting.
BBQ Lunch Included
Your Extreme White Water Rafting tour includes a BBQ lunch beside the Tully River. When booking please advise us of any vegetarian requirements and of any food allergies you may have.
Clothing you should wear for Extreme White Water Rafting is basically the same as you would wear to the beach, you are definately going to get wet. Board shorts are recommended for both guys and girls. Make sure you bring a towel and a set of dry clothes you can change into after your Extreme White Water Rafting adventure. Swimming costume, high factor sunscreen. Money for photos and local fees.
On the Raft
You bring only yourself onto your Extreme White Water Raft. All other items are left at the bottom of the river. If you need to take medication during the day you would give the medication to your guide who will arrange for it to be carried on the Extreme White Water Rafting trip. Cameras are not recommended as there is a high probabilty they would be lost or damaged during the trip down the river rapids. If you wear prescription glasses you should have a strap attached to them.
Raging Thunder have digital photographers along the river and you are able to purchase images on a USB stick. If you are traveling with more than one person you are able to split the cost for this.
Trips depart daily from Cairns from 6.30am and will return to Cairns around 6.00pm

Minimum age for Extreme White Water Rafting is 15 years of age (under 18 must be with an adult)
