Alice Springs to Darwin Tour Day 1
Alice Springs – Kata Tjuta - Uluru
Departing from Alice Springs early morning the tour heads to the Outback Camel Farm where you can try riding a camel (at own expense). From there the tour heads straight to Uluru passing Mt Connor on the way and taking in the desert scenery. After lunch it’s time to discover Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) with a hike through the Valley of the Winds. Tonight you snuggle up in your swag sleeping under the amazing southern sky and the millions of stars.

Alice Springs to Darwin Tour Day 2
Uluru – Kings Canyon
Up at dawn to watch the rising sun playing across the patterns of Ayers Rock. This morning you can choose to do an unguided base walk of Ayers Rock or if you are fit you can climb to the top, it’s a lot further than it looks from the bottom of the rock. A visit to the local Aboriginal Cultural Centre is on the itinerary before lunch. After lunch we head off to the permanent campsite at Kings Canyon and a campfire oven dinner and another night under the stars.

Alice Springs to Darwin Tour Day 3
Kings Canyon – Alice Springs
This morning hike the amazing North and South walls of Kings Canyon, take in the Amphitheatre and some amazing rock formations, hike down to the Garden of Eden for a quick swim (seasonal) and visit the Lost City. We pause for a hearty lunch before heading back to Alice Springs arriving in the early evening. Overnight hotel dormitory accommodation provided.

Alice Springs to Darwin Tour Day 4
Alice Springs – Banka Banka
Departing from Alice Springs early morning the tour heads north to cross the Tropic of Capricorn and to take some time out at Ti Tree where you can view or buy artwork done by local Aboriginal artists. The next stop is the Devils Marbles where huge rounded boulders balance delicately in unusual formations. The site is sacred to local aborignals. Overnight camp is at a local outback station that has a nice swimming hole (seasonal).

Banka Banka – Katherine Gorge
Today you visit the oldest pub in the Northern Territory the Daly Waters Pub. Travelers from all over the world have stopped here for decades and there is a wealth of memorabilia on the walls of the pub to keep you reading for hours. Have a nice cold beer while you are there. Next stop you can soak Jacuzzi style in the warm thermal waters of Mataranka Thermal Springs. Fully refreshed the tour heads for the overnight campsite near Katherine Gorge.

Alice Springs to Darwin Tour Day 6
Katherine Gorge - Darwin
This morning you have a choice of activities to explore Katherine Gorge, all are optional and all are at your own expense. Take a canoe paddle up Katherine Gorge or a guided cruise spotting freshwater crocodiles in the Gorge. Helicopter joyflights are also available. After a good lunch the next stop is picturesque Edith Falls, then on to the croc filled Adelaide River before the tour winds up in Darwin in the early evening. (no accommodation supplied).

Note:
Safaris must be reconfirmed by 4.00pm the day before travel. Itineraries may vary and/or attractions may be substituted due to seasonal conditions, Traditional Owner and National Park requirements. 15 kilos luggage maximum on tour (about the same as the airlines). If you have more luggage than this you must talk to the operator about freighting the excess ahead to the tours end. You must do this when reconfirming your tour.

Reconfirming:
This operator requires you to phone and reconfirm at least 24 hours prior to departure. This is a condition of booking and something you must not forget to do.
On Tour Accommodation:
Accommodation while on tour is at permanent and bush campsites with one nights hostel dormitory accommodation in Alice Springs.
What to Bring:
Refillable water bottle, Pillow for camping if required, towel, toiletries, insect repellent, sun block cream, hat, torch, warm clothes in winter months, good hiking shoes (preferably ankle high) no open toed sandals or flip flops (thongs). Any snacks you can’t live without.
Passenger Fitness:
This tour is ideally for fit active people who have a degree of fitness aged between 18 to 55, you should be able to undertake a return hike of up to 8 kilometres with no problems. This tour is not suitable for children under the age of 14 years of age.
Passenger Participation:
Passengers are required to assist the guide in the preparation and cleaning up of meals. This also helps you to get to know everyone.
Itineraries are subject to change in accordance with the weather (seasonal) and the wishes of the traditional Aboriginal owners wishes. Alternate locations are used if required.
