Mission Statement
The Undersea Explorer Marine Research Vessel
Pioneers an innovative concept which uses adventure diving to support reef research and ecological education. What sets Undersea Explorer apart from other liveaboard dive boats, is the combination of the best adventure diving whilst contributing to valid research, and giving passengers the chance to mix with marine scientists.
Adventure Diving
Dive remote reefs off Far North Queensland including world renowned Osprey Reef and the Cod Hole. Weekly departures to magnificent walls and 1000m drop off's. Features include sharks, pelagics, massive gorgonian fans, soft coral and incredible visibility.
Research Benefactor
Support and adventure diving tourism provide the funding to allow the permanent employment of marine scientists and to provide berth space, equipment and funding for external scientists onboard Undersea Explorer. Current projects are investigating dwarf minke whales, whitetip reef sharks, octopuses, nautilus, fluorescent corals, coral bleaching, water quality and more.
Conservation
Our research efforts are focused on projects which contribute to our understanding of reef ecology, biodiversity, conservation and minimising human impacts on our marine resources. Tourism is the platform which allows Undersea Explorer to get the conservation message across.
