New Horizon is a wooden Tallship.  She is one of the last solid timber boats, built in Tasmania with famous Tasmanian hardwood, which makes her a strong, seaworthy boat.

New Horizon has beautiful features like a human sized figurehead.  She is very spacious and has a lovely wooden galley with a big half-round table for entertainment.

The boat ihas been working in the Whitsundays for 9 years taking its first passengers in June 2001..

This trip guarantees classic sailing and offers excellent snorkeling and diving.

There are no private cabins available only dorm style accommodation.  This is a shorter 3 day 2 night cruise departing later in the day on the first day and returning at 1.00pm on the third day.

Good for those people on a shorter time frame with a tight budget.

Note:
This is a shorter 3 Day 2 Night budget sailing tour with dorm style accommodation cruising the fantastic Whitsunday Islands and coral fringing reefs, it does not go to the Great Barrier Reef proper.

The Snorkeling:
New Horizon offers its guests excellent snorkeling opportunities on its cruises in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. Snorkel the amazing coral reef and see a vast variety of colourful tropical fish in the clear blue waters. The Whitsunday Islands are a great place for snorkeling, as the coral of the fringing reef around the islands lies in very shallow waters. You can snorkel directly off the beach and see the fascinating marine life close up. No experience is necessary. Free lessons from a qualified instructor are available and mask, snorkel and fins are provided free of charge.

The Diving :
New Horizon has onboard scuba diving and free snorkeling.

You can dive on the coral reefs with a torch and watch the marine life like crustaceans come out at night. This is also available as an introductory night dive with a qualified instructor. No experience is necessary. (Conditions apply.) All our staff is well qualified and our company operates within all the guidelines of Workplace Health & Safety, as the safety of our clients is very important to us. Some boats have even got their own dive compressor.

There is also plenty of food, as we know how hungry the sea air can make every sailor. The compliments that we received from customers, give us confidence to state, that we offer the best food on charter boats in the Whitsundays We offer vegetarians fresh fish, stuffed capsicum, tuna, asparagus, beans, corn etc. We also cater for special dietary requirements. Please inform us upon booking. There is unlimited tea and coffee available. It is BYO alcohol. Softdrinks and bottled water are available for purchase on board. Please note that changes may occur due to special products being fresh in season
