Thunderbolt 1 vessel was specifically
designed for the ocean conditions between Fitzroy Island and the Outer Edge of the Great Barrier Reef.
Thunderbolt 1 is the first of a new generation of high speed
reef boats which combines the speed of smaller light-weight
run abouts operated by the Navy and Army assault units, with the sea going safety of an offshore patrol vessel.
The massive 600hp engines provide strength and reliability,
whilst the Seafury surface propulsion system generates
maximum speed with minimal resistance. Thunderbolt 1
turns sharply on command, providing our passengers with a
safe, comfortable ride with the added advantage of extreme
manoeuvrability - hold on tight!!
Thunderbolt 1 is one of a kind, travelling at 80 km/h it will take just 24 minutes to reach our site at Thetford, Flynn or Moore Reefs on the Outer Edge of the Great Barrier Reef. Getting there will be half the fun, and seasickness will be a thing of the past.
