Day 1: Cairns to Cooktown Via Coast 4WD Route (3 Day tour departs Mon & Wed)
Depart Cairns at 7.00am travelling on one of Australia's most spectacular secenic coastal drives. Cross the Daintree River by Cable Ferry and journey through the World Heritage Listed Daintree National Park and Cape Tribulation. The Bloomfield Track (accessible only by 4WD) with river crossings and amazing views providing glimpses of Australia most people have never imagined. Visit the Lions Den Hotel (est 1873) before arriving in Cooktown. (1 Day tour departs Tuesday & Thursday and returns to Cairns same day)
Day 2: Nugual-warra Rock Art Rainbow Serpent Tour (optional)
Previously inaccessible, visitors now have the opportunity to visit the Nugal rock art sites in the company of Nugal-warra Elder, Wilfred (Willie) Gordon and to hear the myths, legends and family history depicted in the art. You will visit sites of particular significance to the Nugal-warra-people - ancestal Birth Cave and the Reconcilliation Cave. Duration 5.5 hours from Cooktown including an estimated 30 minute bush walk.
Day 3: Cooktown to Cairns Via the Outback Route
Plenty of free time to explore Cooktown before our afternoon departure via the Inland Road to the Outback fo Far North Queensland. Travel through the northen Lakelands, Palmer River Gold Mine area and the Great Divide (the backbone of Australia) back to Cairns. End of services.
