Kakadu Tour Day 1: Darwin to Mary River
See the falls of Litchfield National Park before heading to the Mary River Wetlands. This afternoon look for "crocs" and other wildlife on our private river cruise. Arrive Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge to experience and Aboriginal Corroboree, dinner and overnight camp. (Lunch, Dinner)
Kakadu Tour Day 2: Mary River to Kakadu
We call in at Mamukala Wetlands then head to the awesome Jim Jim Falls to take a walk to the base of the falls before continuing on to Twin Falls. Here we join a National Park operated boat ($12.50 extra own cost) for a guided cruise and boardwalk experience up the stunning gorge to the waterfall where you can relax on the sandy bank. We drive on to Kakadu for dinner and our overnight camp. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Kakadu Tour Day 3: Kakadu to Darwin
Our first stop is Ubirr where we discover ancient Aboriginal Rock Art. We continue our journey to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), where we do some hiking and enjoy a refreshing dip in the plunge pools. We then return to Darwin, enjoying the impressive scenery along the way. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Tropical Summer Itinerary (December 2009 to May 2010)
Kakadu Tour Day 1:
Litchfield National Park, Fogg Dam Nature Reserve, Aboriginal Corroboree Overnight camp Point Stuart. (Lunch, Dinner)
Kakadu Tour Day 2:
Crocodile Cruise, Ubirr, Bowali Visitors Centre, Walk to Guara Springs, Overnight camp in Kakadu. (Breakfast, Lunch)
Kakadu Trip Day 3:
Nourlangie Rock, Cathedral Termite Mounds, Boulder Creek, Hike to Motor Car Falls, Return to Darwin. (Breakfast, Lunch)
What to Bring:
Sturdy walking shoes (ankle high), swimming gear, hat, sunscreen, water bottle, towel, insect repellent, camera & film, pillow, sleeping bag (can be hired $15.00pp)
