The Vehicles
The 4X4 vehicles supplied to groups are late model Landrover Defender Series long and short wheelbase. The Defender is the vehicle of choice for Fraser Island, roomy comfortable and with forward facing seats for safety and a good viewing position for the islands many attractions.
The Defender is fuel efficient and it is common knowledge that the Landrover brand maintains a proud record of reliability and safety. Many of the worlds military organisations drive Landrover vehicles.
For couples who are budget minded the Landrover Discovery is the 4x4 vehicle of choice, comfortable with room to move and handles well in the sand. Fuel efficient and easy to handle. The Discovery is priced at an affordable rate for two people to explore Fraser Island.
Of course driving a 4WD in sand is not the same as driving on the road. Fraser Island roads are made completely of sand. The briefing serves two purposes. There are laws on Fraser Island that must be observed, there are potentially dangerous animals to avoid and there are restrictions on driving on the Eastern Beach of Fraser Island (one of the main access corridors). Driving is restricted to low tide only.
At the briefing you will be given tips and maps, a suggested itinerary, a suggested grocery shopping list and all of the information you need to stay out of trouble and enjoy the island attractions.
It is recommended that you do not drink alcohol in excess the night prior to attending the briefing. Fraser Magic reserves the right to refuse hire to anyone if safety concerns are not met.

Backup and support are not far away should you need it. Fraser Magic also offers a free pick up and drop off service from your Hervey Bay accommodation should you require it.
