Darwin to Adelaide Tour Day 1
Kakadu and Litchfield National Park
See the falls of Litchfield National Park before heading to the Mary River Wetlands. This afternoon look for "crocs" and other wildlife on our private river cruise. Arrive Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge to experience and Aboriginal Corroboree, dinner and overnight camp.

Darwin to Adelaide Tour Day 2
Kakadu
We call in at Mamukala Wetlands then head to the awesome Jim Jim Falls to take a walk to the base of the falls before continuing on to Twin Falls. Here we join a National Park operated boat ($12.50 extra own cost) for a guided cruise and boardwalk experience up the stunning gorge to the waterfall where you can relax on the sandy bank. We drive on to Kakadu for dinner and our overnight camp.

Darwin to Adelaide Tour Day 3
Kakadu - Darwin
Our first stop is Ubirr where we discover ancient Aboriginal Rock Art. Climb to the top of Ubirr Rock for 360 degree views over the floodplain. We continue our journey to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), where we do some hiking and enjoy a refreshing dip in the plunge pools. We then return to Darwin, enjoying the impressive scenery along the way. Overnight in Darwin.

Darwin to Adelaide Tour Day 4
Darwin – Katherine Gorge
Departing early from Darwin the first stop is at Adelaide River before driving directly to Katherine. This afternoon you have the opportunity to explore Katherine Gorge by canoe or by guided boat (at own expense). Spot a freshwater crocodile and admire the sheer walls of Nitmiluk National Park. Overnight at permanent campsite near Katherine Gorge.

Darwin to Adelaide Tour Day 5
Katherine Gorge to Tennant Creek
This morning the tour heads a short distance down the Stuart Highway to Mataranka Thermal Springs where you can soak away in the warm crystal clear thermal spring water. Next stop is the historic Daly Waters pub, the first pub in the Northern Territory, marvel at the things travelers have left behind over the years, definitely something different. After lunch it’s back on the highway to the overnight camp at Juno Horse Farm.

Darwin to Adelaide Tour Day 6
Tennant Creek to Alice Springs
Devils Marbles is the first stop this morning, check out the huge rounded boulders balanced delicately on the landscape and sacred to the local aboriginal people. From Devils Marbles the next stop is the Barrow Creek pub where you can see currency notes from all over the world stuck on the wall of the pub waiting for their owners next trip to the pub. The historic Telegraph Station gives you an insight into what communications used to be like. Moving on to Ti Tree you get the opportunity to view and or buy indigenous works of art. A quick trip over the Tropic of Capricorn and the tour then arrives in Alice Springs early evening. Overnight in Alice Springs.

Alice Springs to Uluru
It’s an early start today as the tour heads to Kings Canyon for most of the day. Hikes include the rim walk of the North and South Walls of Kings Canyon, the Lost City, the Amphitheatre, the lush Garden of Eden with time for a swim (seasonal). After lunch the tour moves on traveling past Mt Connor and through Curtin Springs Cattle Station to arrive at the overnight camp at Ayers Rock.

Uluru and The Olgas (Kata Tjuta)
This morning you have the option to either do a base walk or to climb Ayers Rock (you must be very fit to climb). You also visit the Cultural Centre to get an insight into the traditional owners, aboriginal people who live here. After lunch the tour will travel to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) to discover the unusual rock formations and the cultural significance to the traditional owners. You arrive back at Ayers Rock in time to sip a glass of champagne while watching the changing colours of the sunset on Uluru. Another night under the stars.

Uluru to Cooberpedy
Tonight you get to sleep underground. Driving south once again the tour passes through the changing desert landscape and across the border into South Australia arriving in the lunar landscape like mining town of Cooberpedy late afternoon and your overnight UNDERGROUND accommodation.

Cooberpedy to Quorn
This morning you check out the sights of Cooberpedy, see an opal cutting demonstration, visit an underground church, you can try fossicking for your own opals. Later in the day the tour departs Cooberpedy and stops at some ancient salt lakes before passing through the towns of Glendambo and Port Augusta to reach the overnight accommodation at Quorn. Tour stays for two days at The Mill and great BBQ dinners.

Flinders Ranges and Wilpena Pound
Today be prepared to be amazed as you hike the Wilpena Pound. Hiking and exploring this giant crater and the Amphitheatre located at the center of the crater. After lunch it’s a short walk to view Aboriginal Rock Art at the Yourambula Caves. Check out the homestead ruins at Kanyaka Homestead. Spot a rock wallaby at Warren Gorge before heading back to the mill and another yummy dinner.

Quorn to Adelaide
Dutchmans Stern is our hiking destination this morning, worth the hike for the three hundred and sixty degree view from the top over Quorn, the Flinders Ranges and the Spencer Gulf. At the next stop you take a walk over a swinging bridge for incredible views from Mt Remarkable Lookout. One more stop at Clare Valley before arriving in Adelaide in the late afternoon.

Adelaide to Grampians National Park
After departing Adelaide and driving through the scenic Adelaide Hills district the tour crosses the Murray River on the way to the Grampians National Park. This morning will get your legs working with hikes at Hollow Mountain and the magnificent MacKenzie Falls. This afternoon you take in another great sunset at Reeds Lookout and the Balcony Lookout before settling in for a well earned nights rest.

Grampians to Princetown via the Great Ocean Road
This morning starts with a challenging hike to the Pinnacle taking in the amazing views along the way. Next the tour winds it’s way to Warnambool where you have a chance to spot a whale (seasonal). The Great Ocean Road has a lot to see and explore, the tour the Bay of Islands, the Bay of Martyrs, London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge before stopping to take in the sunset over the 12 Apostles. Tonight you stay in the town of Princeton overnight.

Adelaide to Melbourne Day 18
Princeton to Melbourne
This morning you have time to take (at your own expense) an optional helicopter ride over the 12 Apostles or if you prefer you can take a walk down to the beach to view strange limestone formations. The next stop is the Otway Fly Tree Top Walk followed by lunch at Apollo Bay (at own expense). Driving along the coast the tour bus passes through Lorne before yet another stop to search for Koala Bears. Traveling onto famous Bells Beach there is time for some shopping on the town of Torquay and some very famous surfing companies. The tour then travels onto Melbourne and arrives early evening. Overnight accommodation included.

Melbourne to Sydney Day 19
Melbourne to Wilsons Promontory
Driving South East through South Gippsland the tour arrives at Wilson’s Promontory National Park which is the most southern point. You have time to take a walk along beautiful beaches and to take in the amazing rock formations in this area while learning about the wildlife and vegetation of the region, there is also a chance you may see emu’s and wombats. This afternoon we travel to Lakes Entrance, a coastal town which is the gateway to Australia’s longest beach the 90 mile beach and the Gippsland Lake system.

Melbourne to Sydney Day 20
Lakes Entrance to Thredbo Alpine Village
From the most southern point in Australia to the highest point in Australia, today it’s time to head into the Snowy River Country. You will be thrilled traveling along the Barry way as you check out the Snowy River below the road, this is beautiful countryside. This afternoon the tour climbs high into the Snowy Mountains to the Alpine Village of Thredbo. It’s time to put on the hiking boots and head to the “roof of Australia”. Alternatively there is a chair lift (own expense special rate for tour passengers). If you wish you can walk to the top of Mount Kosciuszko or to the viewing lookout. In ski season (winter, June to September) the tour will stay at Jindabyne and you will have time to play in the snow at the Perisher/Smiggins ski resort. (optional tobogganing or ski tube available at own expense).

Melbourne to Sydney Day 21
Thredbo to Sydney including Canberra
Traveling towards Sydney the tour passes through Cooma where you will learn of the amazing story of the Snowy River Hydro Electric Project, a fascinating history. The next stop is Canberra where our Prime Minister spends a lot of his time. Take in the great views from Mount Ainslie before taking a tour of Parliament House. See foreign embassies and local sights before the tour spends the afternoon on the home stretch to Sydney finishing early evening in Sydney.

The base price of this tour includes 14 nights hostel dormitory accommodation and 6 nights camping. Upgrade to 14 nights ensuited motel accommodation is available. Please note that upgrade accommodation is in budget accommodation and may be located in a different location to the standard dormitory accommodation. This package is made up of different individual tours so your guide and tour groups may change during the tour. Tour finishes at three separate central locations in Sydney late afternoon on day 21. Twin rooms are not available in Melbourne (a double room will be supplied) and triple share bookings will receive 2 x double rooms. Tropical Summer program applies to the Kakadu component of the tour during the wet season (November to April each year).
Excess Luggae:
15 kilos luggage maximum on tour (about the same as the airlines). If you have more luggage than this you must talk to the operator about freighting the excess ahead to the tours end. You must do this when reconfirming your tour.

Reconfirming:
This operator requires you to phone and reconfirm at least 24 hours prior to departure. This is a condition of booking and something you must not forget to do.
On Tour Accommodation:
Accommodation while on tour is at permanent and bush campsites as well as hostel accommodation in a share dormitory with other travelers or with upgrade to budget private ensuited motel or lodge rooms for 14 nights.
What to Bring:
Refillable water bottle, Pillow for camping if required, towel, toiletries, insect repellent, sun block cream, hat, torch, warm clothes in winter months, good hiking shoes (preferably ankle high) no open toed sandals or flip flops (thongs). Any snacks you can’t live without.
Passenger Fitness:
This tour is ideally for fit active people who have a degree of fitness aged between 18 to 50, you should be able to undertake a return hike of up to 8 kilometres with no problems. This tour is not suitable for children under the age of 14 years of age.
Passenger Participation:
Passengers are required to assist the guide in the preparation and cleaning up of meals. This also helps you to get to know everyone.
Itineraries are subject to change in accordance with the weather (seasonal) and the wishes of the traditional Aboriginal owners wishes. Alternate locations are used if required.
