Itinerary

Day 1 - Cairns to Cooktown

After pick ups around 7.00am we travel the scenic coastline past Port Douglas and Mossman to reach the Daintree - Cape Tribulation National Park area. If weather permits (wet conditions dictate use of the 'Inland' road) we tackle the steep "Bloomfield Track" and cross the Bloomfield River then into the dense mountainous rainforests of Cedar Bay. A short visit to the historic Lions Den Pub, we view the Black Mountain area then on to historic Cooktown where we visit Grassy Hill and some of the town's landmarks.

Day 2 - Cooktown to Lakefield

Today we travel via Lakeland Downs to Quinkan country and view Aboriginal rock art. We stop in Laura for a cool drink before continuing on to historic Old Laura Homestead. Next is New Laura Ranger Station on our way through Lakefield National Park with its tremendous wildlife, Ibis, Bustards, Jabirus, Brolgas, Pigs, Crocodiles etc camping at Normanby River.

Day 3 - Lakefield to Musgrave Station

We travel through the entire length of this 1.6 Million acre National Park visiting many water holes with an abundance of wildlife eventually arriving at Musgrave station to camp overnight and view the collection of very old photos there.

Day 4 - Musgrave Station to Weipa

Today is spent driving to Weipa with stops in the town of Coen and Crossing the Archer River taking in the views along the way. Overnight camp in Weipa.

Day 5 - Weipa to Bramwell Station

A Bauxite Mine and town tour is recommended in the morning (optional at own expense) then the tour heads to Australia's most northernmost cattle station Bramwell Station and the overnight campsite.

Day 6 - Bramwell Station to Twin Falls

This morning the tour winds it's way through the Heathland Reserve on it's way to Twin Falls on the Elliot River where you will have time for a swim and to explore the amazing Indian Head Falls which is also the overnight campsite.

Day 7 - Twin Falls to Loyalty Beach Cape York

Today we traverse a little more of the old 'Telegraph Track', crossing the Jardine River (known for it's crocodiles) by ferry then travelling on to Loyalty Beach and our base camp overlooking Torres Strait.

Day 8 - Cape York

There is an option today of a day tour to Thursday Island - own expense, a bus tour is available on the island. Other options on this day are Fishing, a joy flight over the Torres Strait or just relax on the beach.

Day 9 - Cape York

After a sleep in, it's time to go to the top of Australia and enjoy an exciting walk to the actual tip. Travel through dense rainforest and stroll along deserted beaches on the way.

Day 10 - Cape York Cruise to Cairns

Today it is time to board the MV Trinity for your cruise back to Cairns winding your way through the waterways of the Great Barrier Reef.

Day 11 - Cruising the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park

Cruising the Great Barrier Reef on MV Trinity.

Day 12 - Cruising the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park

Cruising the Great Barrier Reef on MV Trinity arriving Cairns mid to late afternoon depending on weather conditons.

Note Some campsites used may not have normal facilities. Bush camp sites may use bush toilets and showers. Itinerary can change without notice.

BOAT Travellers will be required to share cabins, this is based on a 4 berth cabin with other pax on same tour. Single Traveller must be willing to share a cabin on the M.V Trinity.
