Sydney to Melbourne Tour Day 1:
Sydney to Thredbo
The first stop from Sydney today is Canberra the nations capital. This is where the Prime Minister works. Spectacular view from Mount Ainslie, you can do a tour of Parliament House see some embassies and take in the sights of the city. On the way to Thredbo you travel through Cooma where you learn about the Snowy River Hydro Electricity project. From June to September the tour will stay at Jindabyne so there is time to play in the snow at Perisher/Smiggins Resort. Try tobogganing or snow tubing at your own expense.

Sydney to Melbourne Tour Day 2:
Thredbo to Lakes Entrance
Today you’ll need your hiking boots and camera, you are off to the “Roof of Australia” via chairlift (at own expense). Take a hike to the summit of the highest mountain in Australia Mount Kosciuszko for some fantastic views over the landscape. From here you stop for lunch before driving along with the snowy river below you as you travel along Barry’s Way. Overnight accommodation at Lakes Entrance.

Sydney to Melbourne Tour Day 3:
Lakes Entrance to Melbourne
It’s time to head to Australia’s most southerly point, Wilson’s Promontory. Take a walk along the pristine beaches, hike to see Granite rock formations. Hear about the native wildlife and fauna before the tour heads to Melbourne arriving late afternoon.

Note:
Tours must be reconfirmed by 4.00pm the day before travel. Itineraries may vary and/or attractions may be substituted due to seasonal conditions, Traditional Owner and National Park requirements. 15 kilos luggage maximum on tour (about the same as the airlines). If you have more luggage than this you must talk to the operator about freighting the excess ahead to the tours end. You must do this when reconfirming your tour.

On Tour Accommodation:
Accommodation while on tour is hostel accommodation in a share dormitory with other travelers or with the optional upgrade to private twin or double room for 2 nights.
What to Bring:
Refillable water bottle, Pillow for camping if required, towel, toiletries, insect repellent, sun block cream, hat, torch, warm clothes in winter months, good hiking shoes (preferably ankle high) no open toed sandals or flip flops (thongs). Any snacks you can’t live without.
Passenger Fitness:
This tour is ideally for fit active people who have a degree of fitness aged between 18 to 50, you should be able to undertake a return hike of up to 6 kilometres with no problems.
Itineraries are subject to change in accordance with the weather (seasonal) and the wishes of the traditional Aboriginal owners wishes. Alternate locations are used if required.
