Wayoutback offers the adventure traveller an authentic outback camping safari with a touch of style and quality. We'll show you all the "must see" places like Palm Valley, Hermannsberg, Standley Chasm and Ormiston Gorge and, as importantly, we'll give you the opportunity to really experience the Centralian Australian range country. Bush camping, eating quality food cooked over a campfire and sleeping under the clearest southern stars you can imagine.
One of the most important aspects of Wayoutback is the calibre of our guides. They are among the best in Central Australia through their enthusiasm and ability to bring people together to have the best time. This is backed up with extensive local knowledge of land, people and history.
DAY 1 (Lunch & Dinner)
The day starts as we pick you up from your accommodation and head to the top of Anzac Hill for a cup of tea or coffee to watch the sunrise while we finalise ticketing. From here we head off to travel and explore the stunning West MacDonnell Ranges. The MacDonnell Ranges stretch for over 200km in length, enabling us to explore some stunning gorges, refreshing waterholes and walks through a landscape unique to our part of the world. The day will be packed with information, swimming, short walks and time to enjoy our surrounds. Highlights included are Standley Gorge, Ormiston Gorge, Glen Helen and/or Redbank Gorge. Be on the watch for rock wallabies and other fauna that use the retreat of the rugged ranges as a safe haven. At the day's end we set up our bush camp for a night under the stars. Dinner is cooked over our campfire in true outback style.
