6 Day Alice Springs to Adelaide
6 Day Adelaide to Alice Springs reverse itinerary
Day 1 – Alice Springs to Adelaide
Alice Springs to Kata Tjuta & Uluru
Kick off your adventure on top of a camel! Our first stop is the Outback Camel Farm where you can choose to ride atop one of these desert giants (at own expense). From here it's off to Uluru (Ayers Rock) for lunch. Kata Tjuta will fascinate you, and you will get up close to the majestic features of this ancient geological formation during the Valley of the Winds hike. You'll be mesmerised as the desert sun sets over Uluru, and as the night grows darker, curl up in your swag (Aussie bedroll) under millions of stars.
Day 2 – Alice Springs to Adelaide
Uluru to Kings Canyon
It's an early start this morning, but you'll be rewarded with a glorious Uluru sunrise. While the morning's fresh (and your legs are too!) enjoy an unguided walk around the base of Uluru. You will then deepen your understanding of the land and the Mala people as you take a cultural interpretive walk with an Aboriginal guide (and interpreter). Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to purchase Aboriginal arts and crafts at the Cultural Centre before we travel to our exclusive campsite within the Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon) where we sleep for the night.
Day 3 – Alice Springs to Adelaide
Kings Canyon to Erlunda
Get your hiking shoes on today as we head out to explore the impressive rock formations which make up Kings Canyon. After lunch, we head south through the rugged desert country into South Australia to our overnight camp at Erlunda.
Day 4 - Alice Springs to Adelaide
Erlunda to Coober Pedy
We continue through the arid scenery towards Coober Pedy. You will see the flat topped mesas, 'The Breakaways' and a short while later arrive into Coober Pedy. The afternoon is spent exploring the Opal Capital of the World on a town tour which includes an underground mine tour! Our bunkhouse for tonight is underground.
Day 5 - Alice Springs to Adelaide
Coober Pedy to Quorn
After breakfast we journey south along the Stuart Highway, we stop at the small town of Glendambo (population 30) before continuing on to some of the salt lakes of Central Australia for a photo opportunity. We pass by the rocket launching town of Woomera which is part of a former military test site. Next we make our way to Port Augusta passing over the Pichi Pichi Pass before arriving in Quorn and our private accommodation at the Mill in time for a BBQ dinner.
Day 6 - Alice Springs to Adelaide

After breakfast, we hike one of the many peaks that make up the Flinders Ranges. Now we are not far from our destination leaving the vast open Outback plains behind us before arriving at the capital of South Australia....Adelaide.
